The Fresno Yacht Club (FYC) is hosting the 45th
Annual Opening Day Parade, on March 15, 2003.
The purpose of the Parade is to kick-off the Fresno
Yacht Club’s sailing season by showcasing the many
Club sponsored activities, local sailors and
sailboats.
The Parade will start at 11:00 a.m., leaving
Winchell Cove (Millerton Lake Marina) and proceeding
around the lake. For those participating, we have
three award categories; Best Decorated Boat, Best
Dressed Crew, and Best Sailor for the Day. Sailing
is a fun activity that continues throughout the
years.
At 2:00 p.m. the general public is invited to go for
a ride on a sailboat rides. The members of the
Fresno Yacht Club will be available to take one,
two, or the whole family out on the lake. This could
be your opportunity to learn to sail.
FYC will also make available small sailboats used
in our premiere junior sailing program which is open
to central valley youth ages 9 - 18. Our Junior
Sailing Program is designed for children and
families to have fun on the water. We will have FYC
Members, volunteers, and instructors at Millerton
Lake Marina (Winchell Cove) to discuss philosophy,
activities, and provide an opportunity to experience
moving through the water under wind and sail..
Think how much fun can be had sailing, swimming,
meeting new friends and picnicking at the Millerton
Lake. Come join the Fresno Yacht Club.

to the launch ramp on Friant Road.
